I was a U. S. Army Signal Corp Veteran serving three years. As a Communications Workers of America (CWA) union activist I became active in the Los Angeles County Democratic Party because when both Organized Labor and the Democratic Party work together we win together. That is why I am proud to join with this highly Experienced Labor Solidarity Slate and ask for your Vote for the entire team.
As a young steward and elected officer of my CWA Local 9003 I started in local politics.. Beginning with that duel role as a union activist in 1975 I have also been active in the Los Angeles County Democratic Party doing the work of canvasing, phone banking, writing letters, helping to raise money, recruiting volunteers and more.
In 1980, was assigned by the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor to assist in the James Corman for Congress campaign. Later I was elected to the position of Sgt-at-Arms for the Federation, and I continue in that role today.
I was a founding member of the Action Democrats of the San Fernando Valley in 1989 and am a member of 7 other Democratic clubs from West Hollywood/Beverly Hills into the entire SFV and up to and including Santa Clarita, Palmdale and Lancaster. I have been to Nevada with the AFL-CIO Voter Protection team every election since the President Obama election cycle and a trip to Ohio for the same purpose.
For 35 years I have been elected by the public ballot to the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) as a delegate and have been privileged to serve several terms as Assembly District Chair. I am also a delegate member of the California Democratic Party State Central Committee and a member of their Labor Caucus.
I am proud to have assembled a full delegation of 7 ExOfficio delegates, 7 Elected delegates, their 14 Alternates and 14 more Associates from the various democratic clubs in the area who spread the values and the work of the Party into our communities.
